Artificial intelligence (AI) is a very common phenomenon nowadays. It can be seen everywhere, from your social media feed to your Google searches. Your data is being collected and analyzed so that you can ultimately have a better user experience through more personalized and relevant content.
Machine learning is a form of artificial intelligence, in which computers learn to recognize patterns over time and are then able to make complex decisions without human input. This process uses sophisticated algorithms to collect your data during each interaction, and then makes educated assumptions about what you may be interested in.
It is up to companies to harness the power of this technology, in order to make better decisions in the workplace. Here’s how you can get started.
Organizational Training
It is important for organizations to understand the value of identifying and analyzing their key performance indicators (KPIs.) These statistics help measure success and growth for a wide range of processes, from minimizing production backlog to improving profit margins.
When it comes to training, your company goals should include improved KPIs. In order to reach these goals, your organizational data should embrace AI technology through applying machine learning when possible. Whether you are evaluating safety concerns or addressing gaps in productivity, the more machine-learned data your organization has to work with, the more accurate your solutions will be. Plus, your organization will become more aware of training’s impact, both positive and negative!
Improve Customer Support
By leveraging machine-learned data, a company’s support team can automatically adjust to reflect the needs of customers. In addition, machine learning technology can allow companies to better learn the terms that resonate with customers, the same way Google provides the most accurate search results. As a result, a company can provide better content on their website, resulting in more leads and higher customer retention.
One of the most popular applications for machine learning involves chat bots, which are essentially AI-powered bots that can converse with humans. Machine learning can be used to “teach” these chat bots how to recognize certain natural language queries. This can ultimately change the way your company converses with customers, allowing for one-on-one conversations on a large scale. By adopting a machine learning process, your company can provide a smarter and more automated way of increasing sales and improving customer support.
Machine Learning Educational Programs
As an AI adaptive learning engine, machine learning applies advanced algorithms to its programs. This allows employees to experience extremely personalized one-to-one educational programs. Curriculum is based on the individual’s current knowledge and unique goals, through individual assessments and knowledge maps that keep track of what skills they have mastered and what skills need further attention. This individual approach allows employees to learn at their own pace on a personalized learning journey. It affords one way of answering the question: How can we ensure that each employee has a learning path that takes into account his/her strengths, changing needs, motivations, and goals? Through AI, employees become the director in designing his/her own learning/career path. However, all directors need help. Machine learning, by itself, should be added as part of a broader strategy to differentiate and tailor instruction – not seen as a sole solution.
Combining Machine Learning & Coaching to Truly Personalize Learning
To improve the quality of AI adaptive learning, managers/coaches need to help employees to broaden their thinking, identify their development needs, and set challenging goals. The greater an employee’s awareness of their strengths, and goals, the better able they are to provide meaningful input into the AI program, yielding richer results. Managers can help this process using classic coaching techniques. Business coaching can help managers learn how to develop a personal relationship with employees, provide assessment, challenge thinking, support and encourage employees to make progress towards their goals. By utilizing machine learning and AI as a tool in the coaching process, you are adopting a more personalized learning approach for employees, opening the door to a wide range of possibilities for company growth and success.
