Meet the Founder

My Background

Dr. Taylor-Nelms works with educational institutions, federal agencies, nonprofits, and Fortune 500 companies to deliver research-based studies, interactive training, change management plans, and award-winning communications materials. An early advocate of virtual worlds, Dr. Taylor-Nelms developed, researched and tested the effectiveness of immersive 3D learning solutions for a number of clients, including the National Science Foundation, the University of Virginia, Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management, International Society of Technology in Education, and Xavier University.

Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Dr. Nelms led efforts to integrate technology into the curriculum at schools and nonprofits, such as New York’s wNET, Public Broadcasting Station. She conducted online training for more than 6,000 K-12 teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) courses resulting in wNET’ selection as a top web resource by Excite and “Digital Dozen†by the prestigious Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Math and Science Education.

A double-major, she graduated with honors from Smith College, received a master’s degree in journalism from New York University, and a doctorate in Instructional Technology, Math and Computers from Columbia University. She is also nationally certified as a Human Capital Strategist from the Human Capital Institute and as a subject-matter expert in virtual worlds from the University of Washington in Seattle.
